WHO WE ARE
Wayne auditioned on the trombone for the United States Navy Band at the Philadelphia PA Navy Yard at the age of seventeen and was accepted and joined the Navy upon graduating from Haverford Senior High School in Havertown, Pennsylvania.
After graduating from the Armed Forces School of Music he was stationed with numerous Navy Bands including the United States Naval Academy Band in Annapolis, MD.
He traveled extensively in the United States, Europe, Trinidad and Tobago, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico throughout his twenty year Navy Band Career performing before literally hundreds of thousands to include US Presidents, Dignitaries, and Celebrities.
While stationed with The USN Academy Band Wayne was “called” to the ministry and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry and began serving the local Church as Worship Pastor each place he was stationed and continued in the ministry after retiring from the Navy Band. As a Worship Pastor he has served seven Churches from Maryland to Louisiana, and in Virginia. Presently he is the Worship Pastor with Calvary Baptist Church in Portsmouth. While serving these Churches Wayne has hosted Concerts with over thirty National Artists.
For several years Wayne served as the regional Music Director for the Anne Arundel Baptist Association in Maryland and the Portsmouth Baptist Association in Virginia representing over fifty churches. In addition to Church ministry Wayne has taught Choir and Band at Portsmouth Christian Schools, Stonebridge School in Chesapeake, and Brass with the Churchland High School Magnet Program. He has taught trombone and brass privately as well.
Freelance work as a musician has included stints with Bands like the “Rhythm Kings”, numerous “off Broadway” shows, and his trombone and “arms” even made an appearance with the “Muppets”. Wayne was invited by the Christian Broadcast Network (CBN) to conduct the Virginia Symphony Orchestra and a “200 Voice” Choir with the Annie Moses Band and Mercy Me for CBN’s 50th Year Anniversary in broadcasting.
Wayne is a partner of T3 Concerts and the leader of the Christian Band “Seventh Render” featuring vocals and a horn section in the style of “Blood, Sweat, and Tears”, “Chicago”, “Earth, Wind, and Fire”, “Tower of Power”, and the Christian Band “Truth”.
Husband to Peggy for 42 years and “childhood sweethearts” for 5 years prior to their marriage. Wayne and Peg have two sons; Jeffrey and wife Mandy, Andrew and wife Erin. Grandsons Kade, Blake and Bryce (identical twin boys), and their “not to be lost in the pack” beautiful granddaughter Ava.
Prior to Peggy’s passing, she had been by Wayne’s side (and sometimes behind lovingly nudging) every step and note of the way, she was the epitome of “I’m with the Band” and a Pastor’s wife.
David had plans to attend college on a music scholarship. One month before high school graduation his father, Jesse, bought a failing food business and moved the family from New Jersey to Virginia. David decided to put music on hold, and walked out of high school directly into the family business. Working with his dad and brother Michael, the next 35 years were spent transforming Supreme Foods into one of the largest independent foodservice distribution operations on the east coast before selling the company in 2008.
A few years before selling the company, David decided music had been on hold long enough and started playing drums again in church praise bands, thanks to the encouragement of Pastor Mark Brady. It was during this time that David was blessed with the opportunity to take two life-changing mission trips to India with a music team. The India connection resulted in David’s appointment to the board of directors for BGL, a ministry that has planted over 1500 house churches in India.
However, it was “a God thing” that eventually led David to London Bridge Baptist Church where he began playing drums under Pastor Wayne Walton. The relationship between David and Wayne has since taken them into a new and exciting direction, and once again… it’s a God thing!
It was through their relationship that T3 Concerts, LLC was born in the fall of 2014. The first order of business for T3 Concerts was bringing The Newsboys to town!
David is also excited about drumming for Seventh Render, a contemporary Christian band that Wayne has organized. The band incorporates a horn section, giving them a truly unique sound. He is also the drummer for the Worship Ministry of Calvary Baptist Church in Portsmouth.
David is now retired from Foodservice Distribution and totally focused on T3 and playing music. He also enjoys grilling and spending time around the pool with family and friends. David has been married to his wonderful wife, Donna for 40 years. They reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and have two married daughters. Stephanie Mastin (married to Josh) and Kimberly Baines (married to Jason). The kids have blessed them with a total of 3 grandsons and a granddaughter – Matthew, Jackson, Andrew, and Mackenzie.
For David, the ride thus far has been spectacular. And now, he is excited to be a partner in the T3 Concert experience and behind the drums
for Seventh Render!
